In 2005 Carol Pine won the 2005 Exceptional Woman Award in the Pioneer category. This award was sponsored by Star Tribune, WCCO TV and Radio, Mpls. St. Paul Magazine, Medica, the Mall of America and Sun Country Airlines.

This was the first award to six women in six different categories in the state of Minnesota.
